Great Domaines gets a new look

We are proud to announce the launch of Great Domaines’ new company logo and visual identity as part of the ongoing evolution of our company’s brand and the services we provide to our clients.

“We believe that we have reached a point in the growth of Great Domaines in which certain changes to our brand and identity are necessary”, says Wayne Visser our Founding Member.

“Great Domaines has expanded beyond the borders of France and now simply offers the best wines in the world to a discerning client base. As such, they required a dynamic identity that would enable diverse communications whilst still being routed in the age-old traditions of wine making. The logo distils their name to the moniker ‘G.D.’, taking a contemporary view of the old crests that are synonymous with the industry in general but the original French domaines in particular. This balance between traditional values and modern mindset is at the heart of GD’s service offering and is articulated through a unique Visual Language which incorporates detailed illustrations with a vibrant palette of colour and graphics” explains Andrew Robertson, Art Director and Owner of Glyph.

“Our new identity enables us to strengthen our visual communication and our presence across today’s communication channels. It was a bold move to step away from our highly recognisable, traditional Burgundian crest with its typical grape cluster to the simple GD letters but we believe it was the right time” says Christine Lundy, Great Domaines’ head of PR and Marketing.

“I am very happy with the way our new branding has turned out. Our logo, with its contemporary edge, shows our aim to remain current whilst still showing that GD is the home to some of the greatest and most historical wine estates here in South Africa”, adds Derek Kilpin – Great Domaines’ partner and General Manager.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to carrying on sharing with you our discoveries, stories and love of wine.
