Damascene W.O. Swartland Chenin blanc 2022

"The 2022 Chenin Blanc (Swartland) is whole cluster pressed and matured in 1,000-liter Oval Austrian vats for 11 months. The very precise nose has lemon thyme and light red apple scents, with just a touch of orange rind in the background. The palate has a lovely texture with a slightly resinous mouthfeel, yellow fruit mixed with ginger and marmalade, and a light twist of bitter lemon lending tension on the finish. Fine length. A very classy Chenin." - Neal Martin, Vinous

Damascene W.O. Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc 2022

"The 2022 Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch comes from vines on Greywacke, shale and granite soils planted between 1972 and 1981, whole cluster pressed and aged in oval Austrian foudres. This has a little more presence on the nose and is more outgoing with yellow plum, nectarine, peach skin and hints of red fruit. There is real complexity, becoming ever more minerally with aeration. The palate is very well-balanced with a little more viscosity and lees expression, lightly spiced with a vivacious saline finish. There is a sense of completeness here. Superb." - Neal Martin, Vinous

David & Nadia Chenin Blanc 2022

R410.00 inc. VAT
"This is the biggest production Chenin Blanc from David and Nadia Sadie, sourced from eight different old-vine parcels and now amounting to 16,000 bottles. Granite-based with other components on shale, clay and limestone, it's a nuanced, effortlessly balanced white with notes of aniseed, oatmeal, wet stone and pithy citrus and yellow apple fruit." - Tim Atkin MW

David & Nadia “Rondevlei” Chenin Blanc 2022

"As vineyards go, Rondevlei sounds relatively unexciting - it's a flat, 1.7-hectare parcel on red sand, but the wine it produces is thrilling. Made with five different components, it’s what David Sadie calls a "salt-driven" Chenin Blanc, with a noticeably maritime influence. Sappy and slightly ferrous, it has notes of kelp and citrus and a focused, tangy, engaging finish." - Tim Atkin MW

David & Nadia “Skaliekop” Chenin Blanc 2022

"Late picked from a parcel on shale and clay soils, Skaliekop is the richest and most exotic of David and Nadia Sadie's brilliant range of single vineyard Chenin Blancs. Showing some of the concentration of the 2022 vintage, it has layers of pear and stone fruit and the underlying freshness and minerality that are typical of the couple's wines." - Tim Atkin MW

"Hereafter Here is Chris Alheit's biggest-production Chenin Blanc, made from five different sources in Stellenbosch and the Swartland. The vines are mostly younger, producing a wine that's comparatively immediate, with a nice interplay between peach an green apple fruit and impressive brightness for a 2022 release." - Tim Atkin MW

Domaine du Clos Naudin Foreau Vouvray Demi-Sec 2016

R675.00 inc. VAT
"The 2016 Demi-Sec is absolutely delectable and impeccably balanced. Tender and succulent at first, offering exotic mango-like fruit flavors, the naturally lithe acidity carries this wine through while the tropical fruit coats the mouth, leaving a heady fragrance. This is a wine to enjoy for its suave yet athletic frame." - Rebecca Gibb MW, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Blanc Clos de Guichaux 2020

R695.00 inc. VAT
"This cuvée comes from a warm terroir in Épieds, south-east of Brézé. It has been matured in barrel for one year, and has seen no malolactic fermentation. Aromatically this feels attractively challenging, with suggestions of crushed rocks and saline minerals. There is a touch of roast to the fruits, led by peach and apricot, spiced up with star anise. The palate shows the same spiced-fruit melange, infused with a little powdered chalk, before a lightly bitter finish. With a good length, this is a promising start" - Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor

Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Blanc 2021

R425.01 inc. VAT
"This is the generic domaine cuvée from Romain Guiberteau, vinified entirely in stainless steel. At the time of tasting it was still resting in cuve, with bottling scheduled for the following week. The aromatics are enticing, with an divinely salty, powdery, minerally style. This is countered by a palate which is supple, polished and weighty, yet maintains a light-footed elegance as it dances into the midpalate. I adore the rich density of orchard fruits cut by the saline minerals and bright acidity, through to the finish. This is top notch, and it has lovely potential. - Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor."

Domaine du Clos Naudin Vouvray Moelleux Réserve 2018

R1,195.00 inc. VAT
"This cuvée has a residual sugar of 130 g/l, with an acidity of 4.5 g/l, and it was bottled just one month before tasting. Youthful purity on the nose, an aromatic profile which suggests finesse, with notes of white peach, freshly crushed pear and crisp white apple flesh. The palate carries a delicious intensity, showing the same pure and finessed style, as well as wonderful complexities redolent of vanilla, wild red fruits, mango and peach too. This is delicious. A pretty amazing wine with astonishing potential." -Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor

Domaine du Clos Naudin Foreau Vouvray Moelleux 2017

R670.00 inc. VAT
"This cuvée, built on fruit concentrated by passerillage rather than botrytis, always registers a modest (for a moelleux cuvée) residual sugar, coming in at 60 g/l in this vintage. It feels mildly reticent, with some minerally citrus veins to the fore on the nose. This is countered by a charming and supple substance on the palate, filled with polished citrus fruits, white peach and peach stone, with a touch of quince. It feels so very elegant, tense and bright, with fabulous acidity. So long and correct in the finish." -Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor

Keermont “Riverside” Magnum 2018

R995.00 inc. VAT
"The 2018 Chenin Blanc Single Vineyard Series Riverside has a taut bouquet, quite neutral in style; hints of fish scales emerge with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, brisk and breezy, not overly complex but precise on the finish, which reveals subtle yeasty scents. Very fine." - Neal Martin, Vinous
