"The 2021 Friulano Buri Bellaria is smoky and mineral in the glass, with pretty herbal tones and green apples giving way to dashes of candied ginger. This is silky, nearly oily in texture, with an opulent mix of ripe melon and candied citrus. The acidity saves the day, perfectly crisp and cleansing, bringing a hint of tropical kiwi and florals into the mix, as the 2021 finishes with outstanding length. The Bellaria is more sensual than the San Zuan, yet both are equally enjoyable." - Eric Guido, Vinous
"The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Peri whisps up from the glass with a nuanced bouquet, blending savory spices with dusty florals and pear. It's supremely silky and supple, yet lifted as well, placing minerality before fruit but then closes with a pretty inner sweetness. Zests of lemon and lime mingle with savory spice and sage as the 2021 leaves the palate buzzing with residual tension." - Eric Guido, Vinous
"The 2021 Chardonnay Sol is quite restrained and delicate in the glass with floral nuances, crushed stones and lime. It's much more expressive on the palate, with brisk acidity giving life to its mineral-inflected orchard fruits. This tapers off with a pretty inner sweetness offsetting its youthful concentration, leaving hints of floral-laced apple and pear. The 2021 will take some time to come fully into focus." - Eric Guido, Vinous
"The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is matured in 50% new oak for the first year and 2,000 oval Austrian foudre in the second year. This is more cohesive and fresher than the 2022 Cabernet Franc tasted alongside with blackberry, cedar and graphite aromas. The palate is vibrant on the entry, well-balanced with pliant tannins, taut and linear before fanning out with impressive precision on the finish. This would give a top Bordeaux a run for its money. Definitely a level-up on the previous vintage." -Neal Martin, Vinous
"The 2021 Terrasse, estate-grown fruit aged in seasoned oak for 12 months, has a lovely honeysuckle-scented bouquet with hints of persimmon coming through with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, a light oiliness on the entry and quite peppery with a bright, spicy finish. Very fine." - Neal Martin, Vinous
100% Syrah sourced from hillside vineyards in Larnage and Gervans. 50% of the blend comes from a parcel of young vines owned by Jean-Louis, which is situated on back, east-facing flank of the Hermitage hill.
" Composed of 100% Roussanne, the 2021 Saint Joseph Circa Blanc is terrific. Offering a classic perfume of ripe pears, honeycomb, quince, and sappy flowers, it picks up a beautiful sense of minerality with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, rich, and layered, it's one heck of an impressive Northern Rhône white that's going to shine for at least 3-5 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it have an interesting evolution over the coming decade." - Jeb Dunnuck
"Shockingly good given the difficulties in Crozes during the growing season (it rained - a lot), the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage Silene has a pretty, complex, elegant perfume of red berries, spring flowers, cedary herbs, and pepper, with some classic Northern Rhône bacon fat. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and elegant, with good ripeness, it's a rock-solid, classic, old school-styled Crozes to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years." - Jeb Dunnuck
"A year-in, year-out smoking value as well as a great bottle of wine, the 2021 Côtes du Rhône Mon Coeur checks in as equal parts Grenache and Syrah brought up in neutral oak. Its vivid ruby hue is followed by a medium-bodied, elegant, lively red offering pretty red and black berry fruits, some spring flowers, peppery herbs, and gamey nuances, fine tannins, and nicely integrated acidity. Coming from a cooler year, it still brings plenty of richness and depth and is well worth seeking out." - Jeb Dunnuck
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie “Clos Vernay” 20221, “A slightly riper yet cool and wonderfully fresh nose combines notes of spice and pepper with those of both red and dark gamay fruit. There is solid volume and lovely mid-palate density, though here too the finish is a bit lean with a touch of asperity.”– Allen Meadows, Burghound
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Côte de Brouilly 2021, "Pretty aromas include those of raspberry, cherry, earth and a suggestion of crushed fennel. This isn't quite as dense but I very much like the sense of energy to the medium weight flavors that possess slightly better depth, though like the Joie du Palais, the balance isn't perfect." - Allen Meadows', Burghound
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie 2021 " A spicier and more floral-suffused nose derives more from the red side of the fruit spectrum. As is usually the case, the mid-palate mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors is more refined though this contrasts somewhat with the lightly stony and youthfully austere finish where a touch of asperity slowly appears." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Chiroubles 2021, "Mid purple. A bizarre nose, green apples and toffee. More classical strawberry fruit on the palate, no great density, medium acidity and length. Retested at the end the apples are still there but the wine is fresher and better balanced."-Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
"Elpidios is a red version of Aristargos in a sense, using five varieties from nine different vineyards. Fermented with 40% whole bunches, it's dominated by Grenache, supported by 31% Syrah, 13% Carignan and 1% each of Pinotage and Cinsault. Stony, grippy and chiselled, it has savoury tannins, lots of granitic intensity and plum, red berry and cranberry flavours. Will age well, too." - Tim Atkin MW

"Released a year later than the rest of the Rall reds to allow the tannins to integrate, this is a serious, structured assemblage of Syrah with 13% Grenache, 7% Carignan and 2% Cinsault. Sappy and grippy, it marries blackberry and damson fruit flavours with understated oak spices and a sturdy, age-worthy finish." - Tim Atkin MW

"Called BLANKbottle Empire because all the grapes come from Stellenbosch, this is a medley of Cabernet Sauvignon with 29% Cabernet Franc and 14% Merlot. Mint and green tea aromas are a prelude to a palate of cassis, bramble and coffee bean and fine-boned tannins." - Tim Atkin MW
"The 2021 Dolcetto d'Alba dei Grassi is gorgeous. Effusive blue/purplish fruit, lavender, licorice, spice, cloves, graphite and a good bit of Monforte tannin infuse the 2021 with quite a bit of character. There is no shortage of personality here. This is far from an easygoing entry-level wine, that much is obvious." Antonio Galloni, Vinous
Domaine de Triennes Rosé 2021, "This wine has a bouquet of strawberries and white flowers with hints of vanilla. It has the harmony and elegance that has earned world-wide appreciation of the rosés of Provence. Triennes Rosé is the perfect accompaniment to a sunny summer afternoon." - Winemaker's notes
"Our 50 years old Dolcetto vines ensure a beautiful complexity in this wine. Purple colour, fresh and delicate aromatics of cherry, blueberry, spices and flowers. The structure has a lightness and brightness in it. Well defined by good tannins and harmonious acidity this wine has a pleasant freshness and intriguing character." - Winemaker's notes
"The 2021 Barbera d'Alba is fabulous. Rich and explosive, the 2021 is packed with inky dark fruit, spice, mocha, new leather and licorice. This flamboyant, racy Barbera is sure to be a crowd pleaser. I loved it." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"This is the generic domaine cuvée from Romain Guiberteau, vinified entirely in stainless steel. At the time of tasting it was still resting in cuve, with bottling scheduled for the following week. The aromatics are enticing, with an divinely salty, powdery, minerally style. This is countered by a palate which is supple, polished and weighty, yet maintains a light-footed elegance as it dances into the midpalate. I adore the rich density of orchard fruits cut by the saline minerals and bright acidity, through to the finish. This is top notch, and it has lovely potential. - Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor."
