Champagne Pol Roger Brut Non-Vintage Mathusalem 6L

R7,995.00 inc. VAT
“Champagne Pol Roger Brut Non-Vintage Mathusalem displays a beautiful golden straw coloured hue, as well as abundant and fine bubbles. With a powerful and attractive nose, it first delivers aromas of fruit (pear, mango) and then releases light flavours of honeysuckle and white jasmine, lingering on vanilla and brioche notes. Behind a frank and dynamic attack, the wine encompasses a nice harmony and a pleasant freshness, whilst preserving some structure. On the palate, flavours of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) happily mingle with fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. The long-lasting aromas, composed of both fruity (candied orange peel, tangerine) and spicy notes (cardamom, anis) is outstanding.” – Winemaker’s notes

Champagne Salon Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Brut 1999

"A very pale yellow with barely green hints and a lively nose but still discreet, 1999 Salon, with its clear immediate taste, has that juvenile grace that captures the palate, itself straight, firm and textured. A quite natural sophistication that is a gift and persists just like the creamy bubbles. Brioche, white bread, white blossom, white fruit and bitter almond flavours are still developing. The middle palate and aftertaste are crystalline and it has a lingering finish with hints of citrus. Ten years is all it has taken the 1999 Salon to reach dazzling maturity. Decades will follow." - Winemaker's notes

Champagne Larmandier-Berniert Vieille Vigne du Levant Grand Cru Extra Brut 2011

R1,450.00 inc. VAT
"Revisited from the June 2019 disgorgment, Larmandier-Bernier's 2011 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vieille Vigne du Levant continues to drink superbly, bursting from the glass with aromas of pear, peach, toasted almonds, white flowers, fresh bread and oyster shell. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and fleshy, with superb concentration, racy acids and a long, saline finish. I have previously contended that Pierre Larmandier produced Champagne's wines-of-the-vintage in 2011, and every bottle I open seems to confirm that. Indeed, if one were to taste only his wines, along with those produced by a small handful of other growers, one could easily think very differently about this unheralded year." - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson Le White Label Sec Non-Vintage

"Pale gold. Spicy pear, melon and white peach scents and flavors are lifted by a note of tangerine. Emphatically fruity, showing good depth and energy for its sweetness. Closes smooth and long, with a touch of ginger adding bite. Spicy Asian dishes or strong cheeses would be fantastic with this plush Champagne." - Josh Raynolds, Antonio Galloni's Vinous

"Pol Roger 2013 Brut Vintage displays an enticing pale golden hue underpinned by a vivid and elegant cord. The nose immediately exudes a complex bouquet of almond, cashew nut, small candied seeds, harmoniously counterbalanced by its vibrant sensation of youth and lightness mingling with mineral and floral fragrances. Then as the wine opens up in the glass, the scents of toast and Viennese pastries reveal all their richness and intensity. The mouth tingles under its seductive attack, crisp, fresh, acidulous, and yet full of roundness and suppleness. Then comes a long lasting intense aftertaste with hints of white flowers." - Winemaker's notes

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2006 Magnum

R6,560.00 inc. VAT
"From the immured one-hectare vineyard on the top of the hill, which also harbors the cellar of Champagne Lanson that dates back into the 18th century, the 2006 Clos Lanson is 100% first press Chardonnay from a very fine, chalky soil. It was fermented and aged in Argonne oak until spring 2007 (no malolactic fermentation), and disgorged after seven and a half years on the lees in December 2014 as Brut Nature with a dosage of three grams per liter. This bright yellow-golden colored prestige Champagne offers a brilliant nose of pure and ripe Chardonnay, along with delicate chalky flavors. Full and round on the palate, with a nice freshness and purity, this is a very elegant and well-balanced Blanc de Blancs. it has an aromatic as well as clear, fresh and mineral finish. This very first release has a very good length and characteristic mineral taste, with iodine notes along with ripe fruit and vanilla brioche flavors in the finish. This is a great new entry in the Lanson portfolio and it will improve with age" - Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Disgorged in June 2019 without dosage, the 2009 Brut Nature Premier Cru is showing brilliantly, wafting from the glass with a complex bouquet of citrus oil, dried orange peel, white flowers and subtle hints of praline. Full-bodied, layered and textural, it's seamless and complete, with a deep core, ripe but racy acids and a long, intense finish" - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier “Longitude” Extra-Brut Magnum Non-Vintage

R1,695.00 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in December 2018 and based on the 2015 vintage, the latest release of NV Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Longitude is showing very well indeed, opening in the glass with a classy and youthfully reserved bouquet of lemon oil, freshly baked bread, crisp yellow orchard fruit and wet chalk. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, elegantly textural and concentrated, with racy acids, terrific tension and a pinpoint mousse. This new disgorgement is especially harmonious and complete. Longitude is routinely one of the region's finest values; indeed, along with Egly-Ouriet's VP bottling, this is one of my two "house" Champagnes." - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007

R3,510.00 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in July 2016 with only three grams per liter dosage, the 2007 Brut Blanc de Blancs Clos Lanson is showing very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with notes of dried white flowers, citrus oil, toasted brioche, oyster shell and smoke. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and vibrant, with a racy spine of acidity, good concentration and chalky structuring extract. This is quite a tightly knit, tensile wine, despite the warm mesoclimate and two years on cork, which suggests it will enjoy a long future" - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2006

R3,100.00 inc. VAT
"The 2006 Clos Lanson is bright, focused and exceptionally pure. Veins of underlying acidity and chalkiness give the 2006 its super-distinctive, saline-driven personality. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk and white pepper develop in the glass, adding further dimensions of nuance. With time in the glass, the 2006 acquires lovely textural brilliance, but it remains tense, crystalline and absolutely impeccable in its purity. The aromatics could use a bit more finesse and freshness, but otherwise this is a solid debut. Clos Lanson is fermented entirely in barrel, but the oak is very nicely integrated. Disgorged December, 2014." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru “Les Chemins d’Avize” 2012

R1,615.00 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in March 2018 to be released later this year is the 2012 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Les Chemins d'Avize, an impressive wine that wafts from the glass with scents of almond paste, pear, lemon and crushed chalk that are gently wood-inflected at this early stage, though I expect that will be hard to discern with a few more months on cork. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, with a deep and multidimensional core and a precise, lively finish. I'm looking forward to revisiting it" - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Le Vintage” Brut 2009

R1,250.00 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in February 2017, Lanson's 2009 Brut Vintage is more immediate than its 2008 predecessor, bursting from the glass with notes of citrus oil, green apples, fresh peach and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's bright and penetrating, but also comparatively giving and approachable for a young-vintage Lanson." - William Kelly, Wine Advocate

"Disgorged in June 2018, the 2010 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vieille Vigne du Levant offers up a bright and detailed bouquet of citrus oil, flowers, white peach, warm bread and a delicate top note of walnut oil that's less pronounced than its delicately oxidative 2009 counterpart. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and satiny, with considerable concentration and old-vine extract, concluding with a long and saline finish." - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
