Clos Cantenac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2020

R850.00 inc. VAT
"The 2020 Clos Cantenac is made from 100% Merlot. It has 14.5% alcohol and is aging in barriques, 40% new, for 12 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with compelling notes of plum preserves, boysenberries and blueberry compote, plus wafts of underbrush, red rosesand Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with juicy black fruits, supported by soft tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with a peppery lift. 8,000 bottles made." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate

Clos Cantenac Saint Emilion 2016

R925.00 inc. VAT
"The 2016 Clos Cantenac is a 100% Merlot picked from 21 September to 7 October, aged in 45% new oak barrels for 12 months. It has a concentrated bouquet with blackberry and cassis notes, just a hint of raisin, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with black cherries, blueberry and loganberry. I appreciated the tannin structure here and the acidic drive that reins in the finish and keeps it on track. This should be well worth investigating once in bottle." - Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate

Clos Cantenac L’Exuberance Rosé 2021

R295.00 inc. VAT
Clos Cantenac L’exuberance Rosé 2021 ,"An old-vine Sémillon bottling interpreted through the lens of the Hunter Valley, the 2021 L'Exuberance Blanc is a medium-bodied, taut and chiseled wine evocative of waxy lemon, white flowers and crisp pear. Given the variety and this intriguing cuvée's taut, linear style, I suspect it will reward bottle age. It's bottled under glass rather than cork." - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Clos Cantenac Saint Emilion 2014

R875.00 inc. VAT
The 2014 was produced from 100% Merlot that was hand-harvested block by block and matured in French oak barrels for 20 months (40% was new, 60% was 2nd use). This is a deep, rich and expressive wine, with lovely notes ripe red berries, mocha, truffle, spices and graphite. It is an excellent option for earlier drinking but has the credentials to keep a few more years.

Petit Cantenac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2020

R494.99 inc. VAT
"The 2020 Petit Cantenac is made from 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has 14% alcohol and is aging in barriques, 40% new, for 12 months. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it slides effortlessly out of the glass with bright, vivacious notes of kirsch, baked plums and black raspberries, plus touches of Provence herbs and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate is softly textured and refreshing, delivering dried herbs-laced red and black berry layers and a savory finish. 16,000 bottles are due to be made." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Advocate
