Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits Saint-Georges 1er “Aux Boudots” 2018

R2,650.00 inc. VAT
Half the vines were ripped out 5 years ago and will come back into play in 2020 maybe. Bouncing concentrated dark red fruit, not too exuberant on the palate though, an excellent fine-grained tannic structure behind, and exceptional length. This has been picked at optimum ripeness. - Jasper Morris MW , Inside Burgundy

Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits Saint Georges “Les Pruliers” Premier Cru 2018

R2,275.00 inc. VAT
"A subtly spicy nose is comprised by notes of ripe yet very fresh red and dark cherry, lavender and a whiff of sandalwood. The restrained and focused middle weight flavors exude a lovely minerality on the dusty, balanced and wonderfully long finish. This is excellent." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Jean Grivot Chambolle-Musigny “Combe d’Orveau” 2018

Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits Saint Georges “Les Charmois” 2018

R1,110.00 inc. VAT
"A cooler if slightly less complex nose features the relatively high-toned essence of red currant, floral and humus. There is both good energy and delineation to the unusually sophisticated mouthfeel for a Nuits villages, all wrapped in a finer if again slightly less complex finale. However, I suspect that this will add depth once it has been bottled and this too is one to look for." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée “Bossières” 2018

R1,295.00 inc. VAT
Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée “Bossières” 2018, "This is aromatically similar to the straight Vosne with perhaps just a bit more floral influence. The rich and enveloping flavors possess a velvety mouthfeel while offering slightly better depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This is lovely and very, very Vosne in basic character. One to consider." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits St. Georges “Les Pruliers” Premier Cru 2017

R2,110.01 inc. VAT
"More discreet wood influence easily allows the aromas of plum, dark currant, earth and evident sauvage character to be appreciated. The richer, more powerful and more complex if less mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors are blessed with plenty of dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm, robust, compact and youthfully austere finale. I really like the sense of energy and while this is a big wine, it's not a block of tannin." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Jean Grivot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2017

"Here the less expressive nose flirts with reduction though a wisp of red berry fruit is discernible so I would suggest decanting this if you're game to try a bottle young. Otherwise the succulent and nicely rich flavors are blessed with abundant amounts of dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the moderately firm tannic spine on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finish." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits St. Georges “Les Charmois” Village 2017

R995.00 inc. VAT
"Relatively firm reduction masks the nose today. Otherwise there is a bit more mid-palate density to the still supple medium weight flavors that are also agreeably energetic on the lingering finish that is sufficiently pliant such that this too could be enjoyed in its youth." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
