BLANKbottle Kortpad Kaaptoe 2018

R207.00 inc. VAT
"Taking its name from a footpath that was a shortcut to Cape Town from the Swartland, this pure Fernão Pires is surely a one off in the Cape. Rich, broad and palate coating, it has spice and peachy sweetness and abundant perfume" - Tim Atkin MW, South African Special Report 2019

Bodegas Mauro Cosecha 2016

R455.00 inc. VAT
"The eponymous 2016 Mauro is mostly Tempranillo (or Tinto Fino) with some Syrah from 80 hectares of different vineyards, mostly in the villages of Tudela de Duero, Traspinedo and Santibañez. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in French and American oak barrels and foudres for 15 months. 2016 is a cooler, more Atlantic and more drinkable vintage with contained ripeness, fine tannins and nice balance. 300,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2018." - Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Bodegas Maurodos San Roman 2015

R450.00 inc. VAT
"The eponymous 2015 San Román was produced with fruit from a dry and warm year, from one of the earliest harvests to date (but records are broken almost every year, and 2017 was even earlier). It's always sourced from old, head-pruned and ungrafted Tinta de Toro vines on stony, limestone and clay soils in different villages of the appellation, including Morales de Toro, Pedrosa del Rey and San Román de Hornija. It fermented in wide stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and matured for 24 months in oak barrels, 70% French and the rest American It's ripe, wide, hedonistic and generously oaked. A powerful, generous vintage of San Román. It should age nicely in bottle." - Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva 2015

R350.00 inc. VAT
"This was a very long harvest (similar to 2016). They started at the end of August with the Cava, and they finished at the end of October with very healthy grapes, good yields and very good quality. The wine shows very good ripeness but without any excess. It has incipient complexity, still young and undeveloped but with very good balance between power and elegance, with fine-grained tannins and integrated acidity. This has to be one of the best recent vintages of this popular bottling. There are around one million bottles of it." - Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2006

R3,020.00 inc. VAT
"The 2006 Clos Lanson is bright, focused and exceptionally pure. Veins of underlying acidity and chalkiness give the 2006 its super-distinctive, saline-driven personality. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk and white pepper develop in the glass, adding further dimensions of nuance. With time in the glass, the 2006 acquires lovely textural brilliance, but it remains tense, crystalline and absolutely impeccable in its purity. The aromatics could use a bit more finesse and freshness, but otherwise this is a solid debut. Clos Lanson is fermented entirely in barrel, but the oak is very nicely integrated. Disgorged December, 2014." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007

R3,499.99 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in July 2016 with only three grams per liter dosage, the 2007 Brut Blanc de Blancs Clos Lanson is showing very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with notes of dried white flowers, citrus oil, toasted brioche, oyster shell and smoke. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and vibrant, with a racy spine of acidity, good concentration and chalky structuring extract. This is quite a tightly knit, tensile wine, despite the warm mesoclimate and two years on cork, which suggests it will enjoy a long future" - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Gold Label” Brut 2009

R944.99 inc. VAT
"Disgorged in February 2017, Lanson's 2009 Brut Vintage Gold Label is more immediate than its 2008 predecessor, bursting from the glass with notes of citrus oil, green apples, fresh peach and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's bright and penetrating, but also comparatively giving and approachable for a young-vintage Lanson." - William Kelly, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Champagne Lanson “Clos Lanson” Blanc de Blancs Brut 2006 Magnum

R6,550.00 inc. VAT
"From the immured one-hectare vineyard on the top of the hill, which also harbors the cellar of Champagne Lanson that dates back into the 18th century, the 2006 Clos Lanson is 100% first press Chardonnay from a very fine, chalky soil. It was fermented and aged in Argonne oak until spring 2007 (no malolactic fermentation), and disgorged after seven and a half years on the lees in December 2014 as Brut Nature with a dosage of three grams per liter. This bright yellow-golden colored prestige Champagne offers a brilliant nose of pure and ripe Chardonnay, along with delicate chalky flavors. Full and round on the palate, with a nice freshness and purity, this is a very elegant and well-balanced Blanc de Blancs. it has an aromatic as well as clear, fresh and mineral finish. This very first release has a very good length and characteristic mineral taste, with iodine notes along with ripe fruit and vanilla brioche flavors in the finish. This is a great new entry in the Lanson portfolio and it will improve with age" - Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
