These terms and conditions describe our use of personal information provided to us via the Great Domaines Website located at http://www.greatdomaines.co.za and associated international Websites around the world (“Website”), as well as other terms and conditions relating to the use of and order of wine through the medium of our Website, as well as the receipt of personal information through the PayGate payment gateway.

General

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rands (ZAR).

Therefore, all prices displayed on the Website are in South African Rands (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT (Value Added Tax), at the prevailing rate (currently 15%).

Great Domaines has the rights to distribute the products on the site in South Africa. Therefore, listed products are available for sale in South Africa only. However, some of our distribution agreements extend beyond our borders. Any inquiries for neighbouring countries can be addressed to us telephonically (+27 11 778 9300) or by email on info@greatdomaines.co.za.
All goods supplied by Great Domaines remain the property of Great Domaines cc until paid for in full.

No alcohol may be sold to persons under the age of 18 (eighteen).

All contracts will be communicated and concluded in English.
Great Domaines encourages responsible alcohol use, and subscribes to the principles espoused by the ARA (Association for Responsible Alcohol use).

Great Domaines is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring safe and secure online shopping.

Due to the large number of products on the Great Domaines site, it is always possible that despite our best efforts, some of the products listed may be incorrectly described or priced. In the event of such an error we will contact you and give you the option of reconfirming the correct position or cancelling the order.

Prices are subject to change without notice, (Therefore any subsequent purchases of the same product cannot be guaranteed at the same price.)

Electronic contract cancellation under the Consumer Protection Act.

This section refers specifically to the sale of goods between you, the customer or consumer and Great Domaines, the vendor. In the process of purchase, an electronic contract is created which lawfully binds the sale.
The technical steps required to create the electronic contract between you and Great Domaines are as follows:
You place the order for your products on the Website by pressing the confirm order button at the end of the checkout process. You will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of simple instructions on the Website.
Great Domaines will send to you an order confirmation email detailing the products you have ordered. (This is not an order acceptance from Great Domaines).
Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the despatch to you of the products ordered. We reserve the right to refuse acceptance of your order, and this decision may be the result of one of the following reasons:

  • The product you ordered being unavailable from stock.
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment.
  • The identification of a pricing or product description error.
  • You not meeting the eligibility to order criteria set out in the main Terms & Conditions.
  • Any other reason that Great Domaines in its sole discretion believes warrants the cancellation of the sale.

Delivery Information

Delivery of orders to areas of South Africa outside of Johannesburg and Pretoria will be charged at the rate the courier contracted by Great Domaines charges, as per the rates presented on the Website.

Local deliveries to addresses in Johannesburg and Pretoria will be free of charge.

Delivery is 5-7 working days (area dependent). Stocks will not be released until our bank (First National Bank) is satisfied that the payment is cleared and is irrevocable. We do not deliver outside of South Africa.

Returns & Refunds

Should you wish to return any online purchases, please contact us on 011 778 9300.
The cost of returning goods (unless arising from an error by Great Domaines) will be for the customer’s account.

Payment

Online Payments are made using PayGate payment gateway. Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, or American Express Cards or by bank transfer into the Great Domaines bank account. All online payments are processed by the PayGate payment gateway. Customers may go to www.paygate.co.za to view PayGate’s security policies

Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by Great Domaines separately from card details which are entered by you on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate customers may go to www.paygate.co.za.

We accept all Credit Cards, bank deposits, and Electronic Fund transfers (EFT’s).
We do not accept cheques. If you wish to make an EFT/bank deposit, please find our account details listed below:

Please note that no orders will be dispatched until we are satisfied that the funds have appeared in our account. At our sole discretion, we may deem it necessary not to dispatch goods until our bank (First National Bank) is satisfied that the payment is irrevocable.

Descriptions & Stock Availability

Whilst we take the utmost care to ensure the product descriptions, pictures, information and prices are accurate, we do not accept liability for any inaccuracies, errors or omissions. The product images may vary slightly from those shown on the Website due to your own monitor and computer settings, limitations of internet technology, availability of product images, and changes to product images from one vintage to another.
Stock availability will be shown on the Website, and while we endeavour to ensure products are always available, there may be times when products will be temporarily out of stock. In these instances, the product will not be visible on the Website. While we endeavour to update the stocks constantly, there may be a delay from the time a product is sold out, and this information appearing on the site.

We utilise up-to-date technology to ensure that all your personal and credit card details are fully protected and remain completely confidential. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to establish encrypted links between a web server and a browser to communicate online.
