Domaine du Pelican Arbois Poulsard 2018

R550.00 inc. VAT
"I like the purity and profile of the 2018 Arbois Poulsard, which, like the sample I tasted before, is quite expressive and agreeable, bright and lively, aromatic and open, quite elegant, with some tannins. It's not as funky as many examples of the grape can be. They picked a little early, and the wine is somewhat herbaceous (in a positive way) and only 11.5% alcohol." - Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Trois Cépages 2018

R525.00 inc. VAT
"The 2018 Arbois Trois Cepages a is brilliant introduction to Guillaume D’Angerville’s Jura reds. Bright and punchy, the Trois Cepages offers superb fruit intensity in the mid-weight, lifted style that is typical of these wines. The warm growing season gives this blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Poulsard an extra kick of radiance that works so well." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Champagne Marguet Père et Fils Shaman Grand Cru 2017

R750.00 inc. VAT
"Scents of pear, waxy citrus rind, mandarin orange, peach and buttery pastry, Marguet's NV Shaman 17 is medium to full-bodied, pillowy and vinous, with bright acids and chalky grip. It was disgorged in September 2020. As readers will remember, the "17" denotes the base vintage, which is complemented by reserve wines from a solera established in 2010." - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Village 2020

R494.99 inc. VAT
Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Village 2020, "An expressive and airy nose reflects notes of mineral reduction, green fruit and plenty of citrus influence. There is slightly better density and a more attractive texture to the delicious flavors that flash good minerality on the dry, balanced and moderately firm finish. This is worth a look for its level." - Allen Meadow's, Burghound

Castello ColleMassari Melacce Montecucco Vermentino 2020

R225.00 inc. VAT
Castello ColleMassari Melacce Montecucco Vermentino 2020, "Sweet apples, pears, white flowers and hints of candied lime create an inviting bouquet as the 2020 Vermentino Melacce Montecucco blossoms in the glass. This is soft, round and soothing, with white stone fruits and minerals under an air of pretty inner florals. It tapers off fresh and honeyed with a flourish of salty minerals that adds wonderful contrasts. The 2020 may not have the energy of the 2019, but it’s a fine effort all the same." - Eric Guido, Vinous

Château Palmer 2010

R7,500.00 inc. VAT
"The 2010 Palmer has an outgoing, intense and multifaceted bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry, crushed violets and hints of cassis - your quintessential Margaux turned up to eleven. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Headier than its Margaux peers, it builds in the mouth with a complex, marine-tinged finish with cracked black pepper lingering on the aftertaste. This is an outstanding Palmer but it needs more time in bottle. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the BI Wines & Spirits 10-Year On tasting." - Neal Martin, Vinous

Fèlsina Vin Santo del Chianti Classico 2009 (375ml)

R525.00 inc. VAT
"Opening to a dark amber color and syrupy rich concentration, the Fèlsina 2009 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico (packaged in a 375-milliliter bottle) is another beautiful dessert wine that captures the unique spirit of Tuscany. Toasted chestnut, caramel, apricot and honey peel off the enormous and far-reaching bouquet. The acidity is spot-on and totally cancels out any residual heaviness you might expect. This is another traditional Vin Santo that is totally out of this world."- Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru 2016

R3,500.00 inc. VAT
Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru 2016, "Deep and intense on the nose developing flavors of fruit and spice entwined with subtle oaky hints. Perfect marriage between grace and liveliness, strength and finesse. A superb wine displaying exceptional persistence and of great ageing potential." - Winemaker's notes

Bouchard Père et Fils Echézeaux Grand Cru 2016

R2,750.00 inc. VAT
Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Echézeaux Grand Cru 2016- "A pungent nose is composed by notes of reduction and wood toast. There is outstanding volume, size and weight to the broad-shouldered, intense and energetic flavors where the supporting tannins possess a high level of phenolic maturity while culminating in an impeccably well-balanced finish. This succulent and velvety effort is deceptively firmly structured and will need at least a modicum of patience." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Bodegas Muga Rioja White 2020

R235.00 inc. VAT
"Light yellow. Lively and sharply focused on the nose, displaying fresh citrus and orchard fruit scents and subtle vanilla and floral overtones. Shows sharp definition and spicy lift to the Meyer lemon, pear and honeysuckle flavors, which deepen through the midpalate. Closes long and juicy, with repeating florality and a dusty mineral flourish." - Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva 2017

R430.00 inc. VAT
"The red 2017 Reserva, which is sold as Crianza in Spain, is their most popular wine, representing half of the total production of the firm. As is the norm here, it fermented in oak vats and matured in barrels, in this case for 24 months, crafted by their own coopers. The wine is fined with egg whites and kept in bottle for a further 12 months before it's released. I had the wine in the glass for a very long time, and it didn't stop improving; it started a little lactic and creamy, and then it got more and more serious. This is the only red they produced this vintage, so all the best grapes that normally go to other wines were used here; those selected grapes helped to keep the volume of this cuvée, and at the same time, it seems to have boosted the quality of this wine, which feels every bit as good as the 2016. It has a serious palate with fine, chalky tannins and very good balance. This is a textbook Muga red and a triumph over the conditions of the year, elegant and balanced, approachable now and with potential to age. In 2017, they produced 936,000 bottles of this wine." - Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2019…

Here too there is just enough wood present to remark upon mingling with the equally spicy nose that features notes of plum, various dark berries, exotic tea and hints of game. The sleek, cool and restrained larger-scaled flavors are finer still while flashing no lack of power and drive that really builds toward the intensely saline-suffused finish. This is very classy juice that should age effortlessly for the next two decades. - Allen Meadows

Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2019 Magnum

"If Kimmeridgian could be distilled, it would likely smell exactly like the nose of the 2019 Les Clos with the addition of wet chalk, citrus zest and oyster shell. There is equally good delineation to the snappy, painfully intense and overtly stony large-bodied flavors that deliver superb length on the balanced finale. This elegant and classy effort is also built on a base of almost pungent minerality and a wine that should age effortlessly"- Allen Meadows, Burghound
