Arnaud and Julien Moreux, 14th generation winemakers, are taking their Pouilly-Fumé domaine to new heights with their pure, terroir-driven Sauvignon blanc wines. This is our maiden offer on the wines from Domaine Moreux-Corty and have just 36 mixed 6-bottle cases available.
Our exciting journey into the Loire Valley continues and today we release Domaine Moreux-Corty from Pouilly-Fumé (occasionally called Blanc Fumé de Pouilly) – the other famous Sauvignon blanc region, positioned opposite to Sancerre (see our release on François Crochet from 14 October HERE) across from the Loire River.
GD’s introduction to Moreux-Corty was through our very own Charlotte Dagueneau who first met Sophie Le Couviour when she spent a harvest at Domaine Didier Dagueneau. Sophie also worked at Ronco del Gnemiz (one of our Italian producers in Friuli), all before she ended up with Julien and Arnaud working as an oenologist at Moreux. The twin brothers, now in their late 30s, took over from their father Patrice over ten years ago, and are dedicated to producing pure, terroir-driven Sauvignon blanc from their 34 hectares of vines in Pouilly-Fumé.
It is essential to experience the Domaine’s range of wines as each reflects a particular terroir. The selection we have put together here is therefore the perfect introduction. Included in the selection is the Pouilly-Fumé “Silex” (from flint soils), Pouilly-Fumé “Caillottes” (from stony limestone soils rich with fossils) and the entry-level wine, Pouilly-Fumé “Intro”.
The emphasis on terroir-driven wine goes hand-in-hand with the philosophy that Julien and Arnaud are not set out to produce ‘perfect’ wines, but rather wines of purity where characteristics of structure, depth and minerality are evident when drinking them.
Only 36 mixed cases available.

Corty Artisan “Intro”, Pouilly-Fumé 2020 (x 3 bottles)
A blend of plots of Sauvignon blanc from across the Domaine’s holdings.
Corty Artisan “Caillottes”, Pouilly-Fumé 2019 (x 2 bottles)
“This complex wine…has an incredible sense of place, with smoky, flinty, mineral character from the limestone-rich soils. Restrained and textural, it’s serious and food-friendly, and would be a perfect match for shellfish or smoked fish.”

Corty Artisan “Silex”, Pouilly-Fumé 2019 (x 1 bottle)
“Like the other Pouilly-Fumés in the Moreux-Corty range, Silex is made with native yeasts and aged in stainless steel and concrete tank on fine lees. This 2019 vintage is still a baby, taut and concentrated with flinty minerality, a herby grassiness and a wonderful textural quality.”
