Damascene W.O. Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc, “A blend of three mountainous Stellenbosch vineyards. The wine is supremely expressive of these distinct sites, with soils of pure shale, Greywacke and granite. Subtle, cool tones of citrus, peach, heather and hay drift above deeper notes of winter citrus and a touch of smoke. On the palate the fine-boned texture dances along a vibrant line of acid; anchored by the weight and concentration that only old vine chenin can deliver. Layered over the mineral core are elements of yellow peach, fleshy pineapple, and bursts of nectarine freshness. The stony acidity drives right into a persistent finish, with a pithy lift of white grapefruit in its echo.” – Winemaker’s notes
