Salvioni Rosso di Montalcino 2019
“The 2018 Salvioni Rosso di Montalcino leads off with a zesty, fresh display of Sangiovese fruit, as a mix of cherry and strawberry is complemented by hints of sweet spice, leather and gorgeous exotic florals. On the palate, I’m finding a wonderfully pure expression, focused on ripe red fruits with energizing acids and subtle spice, as pretty inner rose develops toward the close. Hints of fine tannin and minerals mingle throughout the finish, and a staining of black cherry lingers on and on. What a beautiful, feminine, and truly enjoyable vintage for the Salvioni Rosso.”- Eric Guido, Vinous

Clos de Tart Grand Cru 2018 Magnum
Clos de Tart Grand Cru 2018, "Gentle but perceptible wood is present on the lightly mentholated nose of super-spicy and quite floral essence of poached plum and cassis-scented nose. There is a beguiling sense of underlying tension to the delicious middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a dusty, palate coating and beautifully complex finish that also reveals a touch of warmth. The 2018 Clos de Tart is not quite as concentrated as it usually is, but it still has the stuffing to improve over the next 20 years and it should hold for many years after that. I would also observe that it's more powerful but less refined than the 2019 version." – Allen Meadows, Burghound
Lafarge-Vial Fleurie La Joie du Palais 2018
R575.00 inc. VAT
Beautifully vibrant and precise, the 2018 Fleurie Joie de Palais wafts from the glass with a pretty bouquet of raspberries, red plums, peonies and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, lively and elegant, it's built around fine, powdery tannins and a tangy spine of acidity. Built for the cellar, this will show beautifully after four or five years of bottle aging, and it will continue to improve for a decade or more.
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie 2018
R595.00 inc. VAT
Generous and gourmand, the 2018 Fleurie bursts from the glass with aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, rose petals and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, it's fleshy and enveloping but—like all the domaine's wines—remains bright and precise despite its dark fruit tones and broad shoulders. Powdery tannins assert themselves gently on the finish.
