"A distinctly different nose is comprised by hints of pepper and the sauvage on the humus-tinged dark berry fruit aromas. There is a bit more distinction to the nicely energetic bigger bodied flavors that possess at textured mouth feel that carries over to the mildly warm and rustic finale." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
"There is a whiff of herbal tea to the attractively spicy and notably floral aromas of mostly cool red berry and soft earth. I like the sense of vibrancy to the delicious and solidly well-detailed middle weight flavors that offer reasonably good depth with excellent length. Note that this should develop better complexity with age and overall, it's a fine villages level wine." - Alan Meadows, Burghound
"A pepper and earth-inflected nose is composed by notes of both red and dark berry fruit aromas. The delicious and well-detailed middle weight flavors possess a lovely sense of purity along with excellent depth and persistence for what this is. In sum, this offers outstanding quality for the genre, indeed I've rarely seen better." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
"The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru comes from a parcel of 80-year-old vines, containing 25% whole bunch fruit and matured in 75% new oak. The bouquet is completely different from Les Hauts Doix, displaying more density, darker fruit, more substance and a less airy style, but still very pure and detailed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is plenty of lightly spiced black fruit, gentle grip, an appealing sense of symmetry and a longer tail on the finish than the Les Haut Doix. Superb." - Neal Martin, Antonio Galloni's Vinous
"A background application of wood surrounds the cool and airy aromas of dark cherry, plum, earth and a whisper of the sauvage. There is terrific intensity to the beautifully delineated mineral-driven flavors that possess a refined mouthfeel before culminating in a saline, focused and strikingly persistent finish. This is almost a hypothetical combination of the Chapelle and the Latricières with the richness and volume of the former allied with the minerality, finesse and power of the latter. Patience advised." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
"The wood treatment is better integrated even if it's not invisible on the pretty blend of dark cherry, raspberry and equally discreet floral and spice whiffs. The mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is just as fine if not as dense, all wrapped in sneaky long and mildly rustic finale." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
