Elio Grasso Langhe Nebbiolo “Gavarini” 2022

R465.00 inc. VAT
"Raised and fermented entirely in stainless steel, the 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Gavarini is a bright red concentrated hue and delivers expressive aromas of ripe orange peel, delicate clove spice, roses, and fresh raspberries. Medium-bodied, it’s fresh, energetic, and easygoing in nature, with fine tannins, good ripeness, and evenly balanced freshness. Approachable and youthful now, it’s is going to show its best over the next few years." - Jeb Dunnuck

Elio Grasso Dolcetto d’Alba 2022

R350.00 inc. VAT
This only sees stainless steel, and comes from Ginestra, from a rich and powerful soil with lots of clay. There’s real tension here, with tons of purity and very well-balanced energy. The tannins are juicy, and there’s lovely finesse on the finish.

Elio Grasso Barolo “Ginestra Casa Maté” 2018

"From a vineyard located across from Gavarini Chiniera, this is a slightly more robust and concentrated wine. The 2018 Barolo Ginestra Casa Maté sources its fruit from a position at a slightly lower elevation with a bigger component of clay in the soils. The south and southeast-facing hillside is also more open to the horizon. These conditions give the Ginestra Casa Maté a broad texture and rich flavors of black and purple fruits. The wine is compact with dense texture that will relax over the next 10 years of age. Production is 12,000 bottles." - Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Elio Grasso Barbera d’Alba “Vigna Martina” 2020

R550.00 inc. VAT
"The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Martina offers an appealing combination of fruit intensity with Monforte structure and savoriness. Scorched earth, leather, tobacco, cedar and dried herbs all open in the glass. A lengthy ferment with submerged cap maceration yields a distinctly Barolo-like Barbera with a good bit of complexity but less overt fruit than is often found in most Barberas." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
