Great Domaines is saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Joseph Henriot, chairman of Maison Henriot.
Henriot took control of the Champagne house Maison Henriot in 1962, at the age of 26. After returning Champagne Henriot to its former glory, Henriot went on to lead Veuve Cliquot during their rise to the international recognition they enjoy today.
The Henriot portfolio expanded in 1995 with the acquisition of Bouchard Pere et Fils. This soon followed with the acquisition of William Fevre in 1998, and Villa Ponciago in 2008. These four properties are consolidated today under the umbrella of Maisons & Domaines Henriot.
Our condolences go out to the Henriot family, his wife and children. He leaves behind a formidable legacy and will not be soon forgotten.
