Domaine Robert Groffier
Winemaking at Domaine Robert Groffier spans across three generations, with son Serge and grandson Nicolas having taken over from Robert.
They have swiftly become one of Burgundy’s blue-chip producers with vineyard holdings in the grands crus of Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze, together with the largest stake in the famous Chambolle-Musigny premier cru vineyard “Les Amoureuses”.
The Chambolle-Musigny premier cru “Les Sentiers” is another gem with the vineyard nestled in a top spot mere metres from the Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares vineyard.
The Groffier wines are powerful; showing depth in colour in their youth with a solid structural backbone. While you patiently cellar these, the regional bottlings of Passetoutgrains and Pinot Noir are sumptuous wines and there is also the village classified Gevrey-Chambertin under the lieu-dits “Les Seuvrées”.
