Dear Winelover,
It gives us great pleasure to send you our first newsletter, with the news that our revamped website is now in place. There have been lots of exciting developments at Great Domaines in the last quarter- all very exciting and worth briefly listing:
Firstly, we embarked on changing our logo and giving Great Domaines a fresher, more contemporary feel whilst still encapsulating the old world roots of the company. We hope you like it as much as we do.
Secondly, with the last few years having disappeared so quickly, we felt it was worth reminding everyone of the portfolio of producers who we represent, have direct relationships with and whose wine we import every year.
Notable additions over the last year have been Felsina (Chianti), Vega Sicilia/ Pintia/Alion (Spain) and Salon (Champagne).
Thirdly, the imminent completion of our new cellar, tasting room and offices, which will create a new hub for Great Domaines. Keep an eye out for our tasting schedule.
We are thrilled to announce our official cellar opening to celebrate our new home. This will take place on Saturday 4th June at midday (further details to follow). It will be an al fresco affair outside with snacks being served.
We will have separate tables representing our different regions and wines from the following producers: Pol Roger, Marguet, Launois (CHAMPAGNE), William Fevre, Fourrier, Bonneau du Martray, Mugnier (BURGUNDY) , Vieux Telegraphe, Cuvee du Vatican, Pegau (RHONE), Pibarnon (PROVENCE) , Alion, Pintia (SPAIN) Felsina, Grasso, Sandrone (Italy)
There will be a separate cellar opening for those in the trade. This will take place on Monday 13th June at 3pm.
Lastly, the first of our Great Domaines Gastronomic Tours leaves shortly. We trust those lucky few on the trip will bring back many special memories from Champagne and Burgundy. Keep an eye out for the first teaser on our next trip in November- truffles and Barolo....Yes- a gastronomic tour of Piedmont!
